La tesis doctoral indaga en el período inicial de gestación del recuerdo de Jaime I en la ciudad de Valencia, entre el primer y el tercer centenario de la fiesta de la conquista, en el marco de la cultura visual; es decir, del conjunto de manifestaciones figurativas y arquitectónicas, así como de actos performativos y objetos comunes que no se adaptan a la idea tradicional del arte. Establece un diálogo con los argumentos que ya han esgrimido historiadores y filólogos para definir cuál era el papel de las imágenes en la historia de la memoria del rey. Jordi de Sant Jordi uses more than thirty comparisons in his lyric poetry.
